Prevent online resumes from being ignored
THURSDAY, JULY 19, 2012 17:02 PM

Prevent online resumes from being ignored With just a few clicks of a mouse, individuals can upload their resume onto multiple job websites, such as Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com. However, some jobseekers can go several months without ever hearing from potential employers. Fortunately, there are a few ways people can increase their chances of getting their resumes noticed on the internet.

For instance, some individuals might think that regular resume rules do not apply to them since they are posting their credentials online. This is not the case, CBS MoneyWatch reported. It is still important for jobseekers to make sure their resume is no longer than one page. It only takes a second for someone to lose interest in what they are reading and close their browser window.

In the event that individuals submit their resume to a specific company over the internet, Glassdoor.com’s blog advises jobseekers to always follow up. Although it can be difficult with online postings, applicants should also try to track down the name of an organization’s hiring manager when formulating a message.

Another possible way to prevent a resume from going unnoticed online is for jobseekers to take a career test and identify the perfect position for them. This, in turn, can ensure that they are only applying for jobs they are a good fit for.
