Keep hands on the table during job interviews

Keep hands on the table during job interviews While the results of a career test may show that a jobseeker is the perfect fit for a specific type of role, one wrong move may literally ruin his or her chances of landing this position.

Even if jobseekers are not aware of their body language, how they sit or what they do with their hands can have a big impact on how they are perceived during an interview. As a result, CBS MoneyWatch recently highlighted a few moves that should be avoided at all costs.

When people cross their arms, they give off signs that are defensive and passive aggressive, which can never help during an interview. Keeping hands on the table is best when a potential job is on the line, according to the news source. Similarly, individuals should avoid touching their nose or mouth, as these moves have the potential to deter individuals who are averse to germs.

As for what jobseekers should do, CareerBuilder recommended that they sit up straight and mimic their interviewer’s posture. This, in turn, has the potential to show admiration. In addition, nodding every now and then is often viewed as a positive gesture.
