Jobseekers can enhance their career search by interviewing themselves

Jobseekers can enhance their career search by interviewing themselves Before individuals set out to find their ideal job, it never hurts for them to take some time and get to know themselves a little better. One way to accomplish this is to take a career test and review its results. Another is for jobseekers to interview themselves, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The news source recently spoke to Dee Kane, a career coach and workshop facilitator who believes in the power of the self-interview.

"When you do a self-evaluation you can really hone in on the jackpot job," Kane told the news outlet. "You need to know yourself. Do people excite and ignite you or do they drain you? Do you like working with numbers or being creative? Do you want to work with people, information or things?"

As it may be difficult for some people to interview themselves, Kane suggested a friend or family member ask the questions. Either way, jobseekers stand to gain a better idea of what areas they do well in and what type of work they do not enjoy.

Once individuals have a better sense of what type of profession they are best suited for, they can devote their attention to preparing for an actual job interview. According to U.S. News & World Report, two of the best ways to do this are to research a prospective employer and learn as much as possible about the position the company is looking to fill.
