Job applicants should know how to mention social media expertise on a resume Once individuals take a career test, find the perfect job and decide to submit their resume, they probably know they should highlight their social media expertise. After all, in the era of technology, almost every business and organization uses websites like Facebook and Twitter. According to a March survey by CompTIA, about 82 percent of companies have a Facebook presence, while 68 percent use LinkedIn and 68 percent have Twitter pages.

Although it can be beneficial for job applicants to mention their social media expertise on their resume and in an interview, Fox News Latino reports that this must be done in the right way. For example, individuals should not just state that they know how to use Facebook and Twitter, but give their prospective employers examples of how these social media sites could benefit their companies.

Additionally, as many jobseekers know, it is important to keep their own social media pages professional, especially if they highlight their social media skills to employers. This should include deleting any unprofessional photos and ensuring friends have not made any inappropriate comments on walls or posts.
