No matter how old job seekers happen to be, there are certain skills they should possess if they wish to get hired in today's job market. Taking a career test may be just what these individuals need to determine whether or not they possess such traits as flexibility, adaptability, creativity and tenacity, all of which are valued by employers, according to Quintessential Careers.

In addition to making sure they possess these important skills, individuals may also want to see to it that they are approaching their job search with more focus. This is just some of the advice Scott Tollett, an author and career-development expert, shared at a recent presentation, the Bristol Herald Courier reported.

Tollett believes there are millions of job seekers who just need direction and hope. However, beyond a positive outlook, many of these individuals require a new approach to finding career opportunities.

"One, they’re not treating their job search as a job - they’re not putting the intensity and effort that you really need to devote to it," Tollett told the news source. "Two, they’re not pressing deep enough into their network of contacts and possible contacts. They just call the surface level of people they know - and then throw up a white flag if they have no immediate success."
