Clean up that resume in honor of spring

Clean up that resume in honor of spring If jobseekers have taken a career test, applied to several jobs and still are not seeing the type of results they were expecting, then it may be time to do a little spring-cleaning. However, rather than washing the floors, individuals should spend some time tidying up their resume.

There is always the possibility that potential employers are not interested in a candidate simply because his or her resume is too long. This is why Elena Bajic, founder and chief executive officer of the recruiting firm Ivy Exec, told Forbes that spring is a good time to clean up a resume.

Bajic recommended that individuals first add any new information that their resume is lacking. Then, they should look over this document and make sure it still tells the same story as before. If any positions or credentials are no longer relevant, they need to go.

"Say you were promoted to the director level and have over five years in management," Bajic told the news outlet. "Well your entry level position should now take no more than one line."

Something else jobseekers should consider is whether or not their resume provides proof of any accomplishments they list. CareerBuilder suggests that they be concrete and creative, rather than generic.
