Where to go to find job opportunities
MONDAY, APRIL 01, 2013 08:32 AM

Where to go to find job opportunities Individuals may have created a LinkedIn profile, taken a career test and attended networking events and still have no job. If this is the case, job seekers should consider whether or not it is them or the area they reside in. It may just be time for a change of scenery.

Before people relocate for more employment opportunities, they should review job data for the fields they wish to enter in different parts of the country. For example, if job seekers want to work in healthcare, CBS MoneyWatch suggests they head to Baltimore, Dallas, Philadelphia or New York - all cities where individuals may be able to find the right position for them.

Those who would prefer to land a job in the fields of information technology or financial services and banking may have better luck in Atlanta, Chicago or New York. San Francisco and Seattle are also ideal for information technology, while Charlotte and Houston are good places to be for those interested in financial services and banking.

It may also be in job seekers' best interest to head to a state where large percentage gains in employment are expected throughout 2013. According to Kiplinger Personal Finance, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii and South Carolina are all expected to see job growth in the remaining months of the year.
