Officials from ActionCOACH, a business coaching firm, recently told Fortune that when they interview job applicants, they prefer to evaluate them in groups. While this may seem strange to some people, companies that use group interviews believe that they are efficient and show employers how applicants interact with a team.In order to maximize the efficiency of the interview process, ActionCOACH asks job applicants to take a personality test before they arrive. In doing so, employers are able to compare introverted individuals with other introverts and extroverted people with other extroverts."Sometimes for introverted people the group interview can be very daunting," Jodie Shaw, chief executive officer of the firm's operations in Canada and the U.S., told the news outlet. "But, because they're all the same behaviorally, the group is feeling the same way."According to Health Leader, extroverts are stimulated by being surrounded by other people and may enjoy interacting with groups. Introverts, on the other hand, find it more enjoyable to be alone and participate in private activities like reading a book or listening to music.
