Sometimes, gifted children may not feel challenged by the standard curriculum that's set for their age range. This is where skipping grades can come into play. However, for those who are ahead of the learning curve, an entirely different education setting could be the best option.
The Manzar siblings may appear to be typical 10-, 11-, 12-, 14- and 16-year-olds, but despite their age, they are currently all enrolled in higher education programs, according to the Daily Iowan. Gohar, Bushra, Shahid and Zahid are all biochemical engineering majors, with Gohar pursuing a doctoral in the subject at Iowa University. Johar, who is 14, is currently enrolled in medical school in the Caribbean.
According to EngineeringManagerJobs.org, some analysts believe there is a certain need for children like the Manzar's who have clearly moved past the point of typical academics for their age.
"You have a sense of special responsibility when compiling that academic record for someone so talented," University of Iowa director of admissions Michael Barron told the news provider.
