Although the unemployment rate has decreased in recent months, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the actual number of job openings has changed little. The report found that as of the last business day of January 2011, there were 2.8 million job openings, making the rate 2.1 percent. This changed little from the month of January, which actually had 2.9 million job openings.Job seekers who are hoping to find employment may want to consider weighing their options first before trying to go after a career field. As this report shows, although the employment rate is going up, there are still a small number of jobs for the more than 14 million Americans who are currently out of work.Taking a career aptitude test can help jobseekers find their professional calling, which could help narrow down the extensive search. Such an assessment could help them zero in on specific positions and companies, which could lead to a faster placement.
