13-year-old has the same IQ as Einstein

When Eve Wedderburn took an IQ test, which was given to her as a Christmas present, she only thought it would be for fun. However, she was surprised to discover that her score of 160 placed her in the top 1 percent of the international population. 

Meet Eve
Eve is a 13-year-old schoolgirl from Fife, Scotland. She attends St. Leonards School in St. Andrews and she's just like any kid her age. Her family reports that she hasn't told many people about her score, which is said to be the same as Albert Einstein's, Stephen Hawking's and Bill Gates'. 

"She is fairly embarrassed and modest about it so hasn't told anyone at all, but we are proud of how well she has done at what started out as just a bit of a laugh," Louise Wedderburn, Eve's mother, told The Courier. 

Eve's mother took the test too, and discovered she was in the top 3 percent. However, she's glad her daughter scored higher. After Eve received the high score on her IQ test, Mensa asked her to take one of their official exams. 

Making the cut
Because Eve's score was in the top 1 percent, she was invited to join Mensa, an exclusive international society for the incredibly intelligent. One must score in the top 2 percent intelligence range to be invited to become a Mensan - Mensa scrutinizes percentiles rather than scores, because different tests use their own scales. The group was founded in 1946 in England as a community for the world's most capable minds. Mensa is the Latin word for "table," and the group chose its name to evoke the idea of a round table.

People of all races, creeds and ages are welcome in Mensa. In fact, members have been as young as 2 and as old as 100. Mensa has about 110,000 members in over 100 countries worldwide, and many countries have their own chapters. Members meet up and find a community of intelligent individuals through Mensa events. 

Those interested in joining Mensa must either take an official IQ test from the group or submit a score from a qualified exam. The group outlines specific rules on its website.

Future plans
You may wonder what a super-intelligent young girl would want to do with her life, but Eve isn't sure. 

"I've not really decided what I want to do in the future, but I know I would like to go to university," Eve told the source. 

Though Eve doesn't know what her future holds, many are sure she'll use her intelligence to achieve whatever goals she puts her mind to.
