Dentist Anil K. Agarwal recently told Dental Economics that there are many personality traits that most professionals say employees should possess. For example, individuals should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, satisfied, reliable and happy.Still, within the dental industry as well as various other fields, not everyone is right for every job. Agarwal said that employees are more productive when they are placed in positions that emphasize their strengths and reflect their personality types. These people are also happier in their jobs and less likely to complain. In order to ensure that employees are placed in jobs that fit their characteristics, Argarwal said she encourages all professionals in her office to take a computer-based personality test. This will give hiring managers a sense of where these applicants will be best suited within the company.According to Forbes Magazine, it is becoming increasingly popular for professionals to encourage job applicants to take a personality test during the interview process. Since these tests can be a good indication of an individual's characteristics, professional strengths and values, many employers find them to be more valuable than face-to-face interviews.
