The results of a personality test may confirm what introverts have always known about themselves – they do better when they are on their own, as opposed to surrounded by other people. Even though many of these individuals are happy to be alone with their own thoughts, some may be curious to see what life would be like as an extrovert. While some people assume they are stuck with the personality they were born with, past research shows that this is not always the case. For instance, researchers from the University of Manchester’s School of Psychological Sciences found that personalities can change just as much as external factors. As a result, it may be possible for introverts to transition to a more extroverted lifestyle. Forbes recently highlighted a few ways they can work toward making this a reality. For instance, introverts could try doing the opposite of whatever comes naturally to them. While they may not be the most social workers, placing a bowl of candy on their desk at work will force them to interact with anybody who comes by for a treat.Something else introverts can do is observe extroverts in action. Just seeing how they do things differently may be enough to help more reserved individuals adopt new behaviors.
