How a man dances may provide a sense of what type of personality he has, LiveScience reported. This belief is based on new research from Bernhard Fink of Germany's University of Göttingen.According to the news source, Fink and colleagues from Northumbria University in the UK had 48 men fill out personality questionnaires so they could get a sense of how the Big Five traits - openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and neuroticism - influenced their personalites.Next, the researchers had the men dance to a drumbeat while they were filmed, the news outlet stated. This footage was converted into 15-second computer-generated clips that women could view and judge purely on the dance moves and not form an opinion based on the dancers' faces.Women tended to view more conscientious and socially agreeable males as better dancers, the news source stated. Meanwhile, the more neurotic or open a man was, the worse they performed in the women's opinions. This was not the first study to examine how personalities influence people's abilities on the dance floor. According to Time, past research from the University of Jyvaskyla in Finland found that extroverts tend to make big arm and head movements, while open-minded individuals bob up and down.People who are curious to see what their dance moves have to say about them can take a personality test.
