In 2011, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) polled 495 human resource professionals to learn if any of them rely on a personality test during the hiring process. While 82 percent of respondents said they do not, 71 percent of those who do believe the assessment can be helpful in predicting how well a candidate will fit in within an organization. One company that has embraced the personality test is the Jacob Tyler Creative Group, KSWB-TV reported. Both job candidates and employees have been given these assessments to see who should work for the organization and who deserves a promotion. Using the results of the personality tests, employees have found more efficient ways to work with one another. "[My partner and I] both have reputations for being unique individuals as far as our personalities go," Charlie Van Vechten, the Creative Group’s president, told the news source. "People might look at us and go 'oh wow that’s like oil and water' and what we found is that it’s more like chocolate and peanut butter."According to Van Vechten, the results of the personality tests have revealed that his company is made up of many creative employees with unique personalities.
