As a result of this, employers within the sector often look at an applicant's personality to determine if they would be a good fit for the industry.Taking a personality test can be a common occurrence when interviewing for sales positions, according to the Wall Street Journal. The news provider reports that these kind of exams, as well as role playing scenarios, can sometimes help an interviewer gauge whether or not someone is qualified for the role."Being in sales is truly more about the relationships and the people," Angela Holbrook, a recruiting manager for J.R. Simplot, a food and agribusiness company, told the news provider. "You also have to stay abreast on the newest technologies, communicate well and know how to ask probing questions."Although this may be more common for the sales industry, a personality test is a growing interview standard. According to Suite 101, nearly 30 percent of all companies use a form of a personality test as part of their hiring process.
