When Ken Jennings entered the Jeopardy! set in 2004, America watched as he continued to break a multitude of records, including the highest one-day earner. Jennings went on to win 74 episodes of the popular game show, coming to a grand total of $2.52 million in prize money.However, a new Jeopardy! genius recently surpassed Jennings' record. Roger Craig took home $77,000 in a single episode, according to Entertainment Weekly. This amount broke Jennings' one-day record of $75,000.Craig is currently a University of Delaware grad student, and ended up taking home the cash when he wagered $30,000 during final Jeopardy! under the category "Literary and Movie Title Objects." Answering the question correctly, Craig made a name for himself in Jeopardy! history.For his part, Craig wanted to see if he could defeat Jennings' previous record."Breaking Ken Jennings' record is simply amazing," Craig told TV Squad. "I knew that I had a chance to set the new record going into final 'Jeopardy!' so I thought what the heck ... I'll go for it."
