For many students, science proficiency continues to be a struggle. However, a new program that uses cloud computing to share has been shown to help students better understand certain scientific subjects. As a result of these positive findings, some are wondering if students in middle and high school can benefit from the technology as well.Researchers at the University of Buffalo developed Pop! World, which uses cloud computing to help spread the program to a number of students. Through this technology, academic officials are hopeful that the program will be able to be passed through a number of schools."The cloud serves as a way to distribute resources for free without limits on how many people can access it and with no regard to what kind of computer you are downloading to," said Dr. Jessica Poulin, research assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences. "Everybody can get there."The program works as a video game, which developers are hopeful that many students may be drawn to because it will be easy and fun to use for younger audiences.
