Every gifted child is unique. One may pick up a paintbrush and create a work of art someone twice his age could not make, while another youth could tackle advanced math problems with ease. The National Association for Gifted Children considers the development of special abilities or talents to be a lifelong process. For this reason, parents may want to consider having their children take IQ tests for kids so they can identify and address their developmental and intellectual needs. One gifted child who was tested at an early age is 5-year-old Nya Moseley. In a recent CNN article, her mother, Chandra, wrote about some of the joys and challenges that come with raising an advanced youth.Every day, Nya shows how unique the needs of a gifted child can be. For instance, Chandra wrote that her daughter is a perfectionist who grows frustrated if she draws outside of the lines. Another source of frustration for the young girl is the seam on her socks and how it irritates her toes. Her mother rectified this problem by turning her socks inside out."I am constantly learning and trying to gain knowledge on how to help Nya be the person she is destined to be, while she has helped me be the person we needed me to be," Chandra wrote.
