Sometimes, parents who believe their child is gifted tend to submit them for a child's IQ test in order to determine whether or not they should be in a specific program that can cater to their advanced needs.According to the Washington Post, some parents worry about whether or not their children are receiving all of the support they need in their academics. Some analysts are suggesting that skipping grades may be a way to go about making sure they're being challenged in their academia.The article suggests that although there is no statistical proof of whether or not grade skipping is becoming a rarity, the author believes that this is so.However, there are some analysts who believe that skipping a grade may be the best option for many gifted students."No other arrangement for gifted children works as well as acceleration," James Kulik, the director of the office of evaluations and examinations at the University of Michigan, told the news provider.
