Gifted children are often given advanced curricula to follow in order to stay ahead of their peers and remain challenged. One school is looking to put this curriculum to the use of all of their students in order to help turn around pupil performance.J.W. Faulk Elementary School is taking on teachers who have specifically been trained to educate special students as part of a way to "turnaround the school," according to 2TheAdvocate.com. Part of the program will be used in order to identify students' interests and talents so they can let them show."I'm hoping that having this methodology in every classroom taps into the true child - to their interests, their learning style," school principal Stephanie Francis, who plans to meet with parents about the initiative this month, told the news provider. "I want them to feel valued, that we care and that they can do it."Through legislation hoping to help teachers prepare for gifted students, there is a program that specifically trains educators to go above and beyond in meeting the needs of advanced pupils, according to the National Association for Gifted Children.
