Mensa International is known to count gifted children among its many members. In fact, the high IQ society’s website states that some Mensans have been as young as 2 years old. Tanishq Abraham was not 2 when he was offered membership to the exclusive society, but at 4 years old, he was still quite young. However, as Fox 40 KTXL reported, a Mensa membership card is far from Tanishq’s only accomplishment. Now 9 years old, the California resident is working toward a degree at American River College. It was not long after Tanishq joined Mensa that his parents made the decision to pull him out of public school so they could home-school him. This decision was based on the fact that the gifted student’s teachers could not keep up with his intellectual appetite. "A typical comment is that we are really pushing him," Tanishq’s father Bijou told the news source. "He’s pushing us." According to Fox News, Tanishq enjoys studying the sciences and currently learns about topics such as astronomy and paleontology at school. In fact, he is so comfortable with his college settings that he has even provided guest lectures. If children display a similar thirst for knowledge at a young age, parents may want to have them complete an IQ test for kids.
