While many students across the U.S. may be labeled as gifted, a recent search for the most exceptional students was conducted by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).Through this search, the Whitby School in Greenwich, Connecticut, discovered that five of its students were considered to be some of the highest academically gifted children in the country. School officials are proud of the honor, stating that their academic goals are to ensure that each student is engaged by exceptional faculty who can challenge the pupils."We couldn't be more excited and proud to see such a large number of our students qualifying for the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program and have more students than any other school achieve top in the country and high honors awards," said Doug Fainelli, Whitby's Headmaster.Fainelli continued that the school offers a curriculum that allows flexibility for gifted students, as they typically require a different learning plan than their peers in order to stay focused and challenged.
