The month of October marks the 65th anniversary of Mensa International, a society for people who possess an above-average intelligence. According to the organization's website, members have an IQ that is in the top 2 percent of the population. Currently, 57,000 Americans make up the 110,000 Mensa members around the globe.

To celebrate 65 years of brilliance, American Mensa is launching a month-long national campaign to find the society's next members. Over the course of October, anybody who thinks they have what it takes to join the organization can visit one of hundreds of local test sessions across the country.

In order to take the IQ test for Mensa, individuals will need to bring a photo ID and register 30 minutes prior to the assessment. Anybody interested must also be at least 14 years of age.

"For 65 years, Mensa has provided an opportunity for people to network with like-minded individuals and meet people from all walks of life," said Elissa Rudolph, chair for American Mensa. "This is a great time to take the test, experience the organization and join the celebration of Mensa International’s Brilliant Anniversary."
