Although some people have been proclaimed geniuses due to their high winnings on game shows, perhaps one of the most recognized is Ken Jennings who held the longest winning streak on Jeopardy. However, the super computer Watson is proving to be a worthy opponent.Watson defeated former Jeopardy contestants Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, who is the biggest all-time money winner on the show. According to PC World, Watson took in $77,147 during the three-day tournament. Jennings took second place with $24,000, while Rutter was close behind with $21,600.The game was held at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Laboratory, located in Yorktown Heights, New York. After taking the $1 million prize, IBM is planning to donate the money to World Vision and World Community Grid. Additionally, Jennings and Rutter donated half of their earnings to separate charities of their choice.While Watson may have been the star of the show, the super computer is not through yet. IBM announced that it will be using Watson with Nuance Communications Incorporated to provide access to critical information pertaining to the healthcare industry.
