With each new study, researchers are finding that one’s IQ test scores can fluctuate throughout his or her life, The Wall Street Journal reported. As more data comes out, people are seeing how mental ability can change quite rapidly. Most recently, study results from the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at the University College London revealed that of 33 student participants, 9 percent experienced a change in IQ of 15 points or more between the ages of 12 and 16, the news source reported.Additionally, the findings of a study from the University of Hamburg found that taking on new tasks may help raise individuals’ IQs. When researchers from this institution had 20 young adults participate in one month’s worth of intense training in juggling, these participants experienced a noticeable increase in gray matter. However, this same gray matter receded once they stopped training, according to the news outlet. If individuals are curious to see if there has been any change in their mental ability since taking on new responsibilities, they can take an IQ test. According to LiveStrong.com, the results of these assessments can also provide insight into their behavior.
