Individuals in and around Ames, Iowa recently had a chance to see if their IQ was high enough for them to join Mensa, a society of people with exceptionally high IQ test scores, the Iowa State Daily reported.On October 22, individuals had the chance to register and take two Mensa admission assessments at the Ames Public Library, according to the news source. Those whose test scores were at or above the 98th percentile will have a chance to join this society for people with high IQs.Mensa members have a chance to meet like-minded individuals in the society's special interest groups, the news outlet stated. For Marie Mayer, Central Iowa Mensa's testing coordinator, these opportunities have greatly improved the quality of her life."The thing for me about Mensa has been the people," Mayer told the news source. "Mensa filled a niche in my life."Depending on where a member is located, they will be able to attend social events as often as at least once per month to almost every day, according to Mensa International's website.Gifted individuals who feel they could benefit from connecting with like-minded thinkers may want to take an IQ test and see if they are intelligent enough to join a society like Mensa.
