Many children receive IQ tests in order to gauge their aptitude and where their cognitive strengths lie, but some analysts believe that not enough stress is put on the importance of testing for spatial intelligence.According to Scientific American, some individuals with spatial intelligence score under the radar of typical IQ tests, but go on to perform at exceedingly high levels throughout school, earn high degrees and in some cases - win awards for their ideas and inventions. The news source reports that spatial ability is defined as having the ability to mentally generate, rotate and transform images. This ability is one of the most important qualities when it comes to being successful at school and at one's career.Children who have a high spatial intelligence tend to think in pictures and think more through right-brain processing. As a result, some analysts consider those with spatial intelligence to be day dreamers, and they often excel at visual presentations, and can pick up on small details that most people tend to miss visually.
