The essential traits of a successful marketer
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 04, 2011 16:53 PM

Sometimes, a passion for a particular field and all the training in the world will not be enough to help somebody achieve professional success if they are missing key personality traits. For instance, CBS MoneyWatch recently highlighted a few of the characteristics people should possess in order to become great marketing professionals.

As marketing hinges on the relationship between businesses and their customers, professionals in this field need to be creative enough to take complex information and boil it down to simple sound bites that people can easily understand, the news source reported. Similarly, individuals working within this field should be able to think strategically.

In addition, it helps for marketers to be competitive, as the news outlet suggested that business is about winning. In order to succeed, these business professionals must have a desire to beat their competitors and come out on top.

According to Small Business Trends, today's marketers must also be risk takers if they are to stand out from the competition.

If individuals are not sure how well they would do in marketing, they may want to take a career test and see if they have the right traits for a job in this field.
